With a music offer that is diverse and a repertoire for all occasions and age groups, his skills in interacting with the audience combined with faultless performances have brought joy to many lovers of Latin music. He continues to be in great demand internationally as a supporting artist to many International Latin groups.
From Italian/Brazilian heritage, Ernesto was born in Paraguay and brought up in a family with strong musical ties. He started playing guitar at the age of 6 and studied music under Professor Kuki Rey from the age of 9 until he matriculated. After finishing his tertiary education, he based himself in Argentina to further his studies and work, teaming up with the group Los Paraguas, with whom he performed for a number of years. The group played in Venezuela, Columbia, Peru, as well as in Central America. They also won the prestigious “ South American Festival of Music and Dance” held in San Carlos, Argentina.
In 1989 he joined the famous group ‘Los Gomes’, based in Paraguay, from where they performed across South America. The group appeared in well-known TV music shows such as:
• Bolilha (Brazilian TV)
• La Siesta (Paraguayan TV)
• Inolvidable (Paraguayan TV)
In 1990 Ernesto was invited to join the famous group Los Indios, who at the time also performed at Sun City, South Africa. He, together with Los Indios, moved to Osaka in Japan, where they performed in concerts across Japan for about 1 year. Ernesto took a decision to go solo, staying on in Tokyo, performing at various locations in the Far East (Japan, South-Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong) for a couple of years.
While holidaying in South Africa in 1994, he decided to relocate to Durban, joining his friend Angelo Vera in a 2-piece band prior to going solo. He moved to Cape Town, where he has been living since 1999, performing solo or with his group, The Latin Kings.
He recorded and produced 4 CD’s: New Beginnings in 2000, Serendipity in 2001, Carnaval in 2005, and Corazon Latino, recorded in South America in June 2009.
Ernesto, the Latino maestro, returned to South Africa last year, after a 4-year sabbatical in South America.
