Danie du Toit (Reënwolf) is a dynamic young Afrikaans poet-songwriter and musician from Stellenbosch. He exploded onto the South-African music scene in 2012 as the front man and main songwriter for the Afrikaans rock sensation Spoegwolf.  The band has since won a Ghoema music award for ‘Best Alternative rock album’ and also starred in a reality television series called ‘Spoegwolf soek nuwe bloed’on DSTV channel Via, which Danie co-produced. The band made History in 2019 when their massive album ‘Koma’ made them the first Afrikaans artist or band to take the nr. #1 spot on the South-African Apple Music charts.  Danie is a published poet and is releasing his latest solo project called ‘Warmer voor die Tuimeldroër’. This is a collection of poems Danie has written over the past 8 years and showcases the versatility of the multi-talented young artist. Danie will be doing a more intimate solo performance with his acoustic guitar and vocals singing some of the poems he has written – mostly, as he puts it, about the magic of love. Come and experience a different side of this passionate artist in a beautiful outdoor setting

Native Young is the brainchild of Yannick Meyer, a 27-year-old producer and songwriter, from Cape Town, South Africa.

When embarking on the Native Young project, the original goal seemed to be to forge musical ideas with people from different cultural backgrounds, pushing the boundaries of music and fusion in a true heart connection. What bloomed forth from this was something truly special.
The band has developed into 4 piece afro-folk indie collective founded in 2014 with members from various walks of life and cultures.

When asked to sum up their music genre Native Young describe their sound as “Kasi-pop”.
There are a handful of bands in in the world that seem to have the ability to reach so many listeners at a heart level, with extremely listenable melodies, funky hooks and soulful phrases, while at the same time leaving their audience feeling that they have heard something truly original and fresh.
There is absolutely no doubt that their debut album, “Kings”, will make big waves, not only locally but internationally too.

With intrinsic, emotive and heartfelt foot-tapping grooves guaranteed to spread a smile across the faces of their listeners, Native Young never disappoints.

We are so excited to welcome back the legendary Robin Auld to the Cafe Roux stage.

Well known to SA audiences from hits like “All of Woman”, “Zen Surfing” and “Baby you been good”, his music over the years has evolved from the poprock sound of his early recordings to the contemporary mix of blues and roots that makes his sound today. He has released over twenty albums, the last decade’s output being through his own label “Shoreline Songs”.

He’ll be playing new songs as well as some of his more classics and will be joined by the legendary Rayelle Goodman and Barry van Zyl (Legendary drummer of Johnny Clegg).

Expect an upbeat evening sure to uplift & enthuse in a super-intimate setting.

For the past two decades the energetic performances of SAMA award winning blues/rock guitarist/singer Albert Frost has captured audiences worldwide. Dubbed the “South African Hendrix”, Frost deftly alternates between rhythm and lead, showcasing his extraordinary skills on the acoustic and electric guitars. His first love is the Blues, stemming from the influence of his long relationship with the Blues Broers, a well-known and respected group from Cape Town with whom he has performed since 1994 at the age of 17.
