Masicorp Fundraiser – a night of Music & Art
Masicorp believes education changes lives. To date the non-profit organisation has been able to provide skills development and brighter prospects to over 4000 people in Masiphumelele each year.
By attending you help continue what we do and love to do.
The show brings together a host of local talent you’d normally have to book to see in separate shows.
The evening includes an art and photographic exhibition from two local, up and coming Masi artists: Ongama Manyase (ONGOINGMOVEMNT) and Qhamani Bangani.
During dinner you will be serenaded by students from the famous Masi Violin Outreach programme whose students have perform all around Cape Town.
The main show kicks off with the fresh new Deep South singer songwriter talents, Emma-Jean and Mel Malisch, both who have just recently released new songs on all major platforms and are ‘wow-ing’ audiences here and other major Cape Town stages.
Next is special guest, singer-songwriter Paul De Villiers who rose to local prominence with his hit “Masi” during lockdown, raising money to help feed Masi kids during COVID.
Then it’s the turn of Hisbon Jr’s new Afro Roots outfit, The Combination Band, originally from Malawi.
Nick Turner and his nimble-fingered compadre Jonny Blundell end the show, dishing out a clew of infectious earworms from Nick’s rich and eclectic oeuvre. The lads will take you on a riveting, whistle stop musical ride from Brooklyn to the Mother City, from England to Loeriesfontein and beyond.
Nick’s music effortlessly spans genres with influences ranging from rock, reggae, and afro-pop to ghoema, hip-hop and jazz.
During the evening there will be amazing prizes in a lucky draw by MASICORP.
Be sure not to miss all this talent, on one night, on the same bill, all for a good cause nogal.
