Danny de Wet played for two iconic SA 80’s bands: éVOID/Petit Cheval and spent 13 years with Wonderboom – he has just released the definitive printed account of the history of South African Rock AND is launching the book at Café Roux on Friday 05 Nov 2022, (in an Unplugged/Storytellers Concert), together with long-time friend David Beretta Owens frontman for The DeadBeats and former Lithium vocal powerhouse.
Dave’s stellar renditions of classic worldwide hits, which are pertinent to the stories and anecdotes in the script, are perfectly juxta-positioned against Danny’s quirky original songs (Hairy Armpits Will Never Change The World etc) and other South African tunes.
THINK: Radiohead/The Cure/Bob Dylan etc VERSUS éVOID/Valiant Swart/Black Cat Bones.
